Designed specifically for military use in extreme cold weather environments.

The Bunny Boot was designed after numerous soldiers suffered from frostbite while fighting in the Battle of Chosin Reservoir during the Korean War. It supports soldiers in the coldest conditions that any military could reasonably attempt to operate in; a ‘worst-case scenario’ that includes regions such as Alaska, Siberia, and both the Arctic and Antarctic poles.

The ‘Bunny Boot’ is the most common nickname for the Extreme Cold Vapor Barrier Boot. This large, bulbous, waterproof rubber boot can be worn in the most frigid weather, −20°F to −60°F (−29°C to −51°C), with the liner-free interior retaining warmth by sandwiching up to one inch of wool and felt insulation between two vacuum-tight layers of rubber. The Bunny Boot’s design includes an air valve system that relieves air pressure while airborne and allows the wearer to check the boot for leakage.

Key Features

Excellent thermal insulation

Provides excellent thermal insulation down to –60°F (–51°C). Individually tested and inspected. Minimum overall insulation Clo value of 1.6, and an average Clo value of 1.8 at the toe.

High toxicological resistance

Minimum resistance to mustard penetration of 75 minutes and minimum resistance to Isopropyl methylphosphonofluoridate (GB) of 100 minutes.

Highly resistant

CBRN resistant. Resistant to mold, mildew, and fungus growth. Petroleum, oil, and lubricant (POL) resistant soles.

Compatible Interface

Compatible with standard issued ski bindings, crampons, and snowshoes. The boots include a ski-strap shelf.
